As the investment landscape grows more complex and technology moves faster, we rely on deep technical competence, strong analytical capability and a genuine commitment to excellence to deliver high-quality outcomes for the business.

Because we understand investment processes, financial instruments and regulatory frameworks inside out, we adapt quickly, hold the line on rigorous standards, and give our partners and stakeholders support that means something.

IAA is a global function within Zurich Investment Management, responsible for the accuracy, transparency and governance of investment accounting, valuation and reporting across the organization. We safeguard the integrity of investment data, keep us aligned with regulatory and audit requirements, and deliver insights that shape strategic portfolio and business decisions. Through this critical work, our team sits at the center of the reliability and credibility of investment information enterprise wide.

We are also continuously improving how we work, enhancing and standardizing processes across regions, and using technology, automation and cross-team collaboration to drive efficiency and build operational resilience.

As a trusted partner to Investment Management and Finance, we deliver the reliable, transparent, high-quality investment information that lets the company decide with confidence.

Why you'll want this role:
  • Visible impact; your work underpins investment information the whole enterprise relies on
  • Real technical depth; IFRS, US GAAP, NAIC and US Tax in one role is rare, and it makes you highly marketable
  • Room to modernize; you'll shape how the work gets done with automation, analytics and AI, not just keep it running
  • Leadership without leaving the technical track; coach and develop others while staying hands-on
What you will be doing:
  • Own the investment subledger; leading and overseeing subledger activities, applying deep expertise in security accounting, valuation and posting logic, and keeping system processes accurately configured and running
  • Deliver a smooth close, every cycle; executing and reviewing monthly close and reporting, including monthly and quarterly investment reports for internal stakeholders, auditors and business partners
  • Be the escalation point; taking on complex issues, performing advanced review, getting to the true root cause and driving corrective action through to the end
  • Bring senior technical judgement; to perform the monthly hard-close cycle, making sure investment accounting results land on time and to a high standard
  • Put your technical depth to work; applying IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), US GAAP and US Tax knowledge to analyze instrument behavior, validate results, share insights and resolve audit or reporting queries
  • Prepare and review NAIC statutory investment schedules; keeping reporting accurate and compliant as NAIC requirements evolve
  • Ensure proper tax inputs; preparing, reviewing and validating US Tax reporting data, tax basis calculations and tax schedules in line with IRS rules
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives; that strengthen reporting quality, sharpen internal controls and make the end-to-end process genuinely more effective
  • Drive digitalization and automation; with tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Python and AI agents to lift data accuracy, timeliness and productivity
  • Strengthening the foundations; developing and maintaining internal controls and quality assurance across all investment accounting and reporting activities
  • Grow the people around you; coaching Associates, building their analytical capability and making sure accounting policies and control standards are applied consistently across the team
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Investment Accounting or Finance with 5 or more years of experience OR
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7-10+ years of experience in the Investment Accounting or Finance area AND
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of US GAAP, US Statutory & US Tax accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A professional accounting designation; CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent
  • 2+ years of post-qualified accounting or investment accounting experience
  • Public accounting background
  • CFA designation
  • Platform know-how; SAP, BW or other investment subledger and reporting platforms
  • Extensive Investment products understanding; fixed income, equities, structured products, private debt and alternative assets
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset; you spot issues early and improve things rather than work around them
  • Independence under pressure; comfortable owning competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making instincts
  • Clear written and verbal communication; you make complex information easy to follow
  • Data analytics strength; using Excel and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to support decisions and create real business value
  • Influence and stakeholder skills; aligning cross-functional teams and supporting decisions across Finance, Investment Management and Operations
