Job summary

AIG's Investment Accounting group in the United States oversees accounting and reporting for invested assets, including fixed income and equity positions. The team ensures GAAP compliance, accurate journal entries, and regulatory disclosures across multiple entities.

We seek an experienced professional with 10+ years in investment accounting to drive close processes, statutory reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Corporate Finance and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 10+ years’ experience in accounting and reporting for investment products.
• Deep understanding of investment products and accounting treatment for fixed maturity, equity, and other investment products.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and recording of investments-related journal entries.
• Experience with statutory reporting.
• Experience with foreign currency remeasurement and translation.
• Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple locations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage monthly and quarterly close for invested assets.
• Prepare Investment disclosures for 10Q/K and Financial Supplement.
• Lead NAIC statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Drive process improvements with other department areas.
• Serve as key contact for business unit and corporate controllers.
• Coordinate new investment transactions and ensure proper accounting in ledgers.
• Perform ad-hoc analytical requests.
