Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Professional accounting designation (CA/ACCA/CPA) is required or strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of post-qualified accounting or investment accounting experience.
• Experience with US GAAP investment accounting across asset classes including fixed income and alternatives.
• Familiarity with funds withheld, coinsurance, or related structures is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries for investment activity for management and quarterly board reporting (US GAAP and Bermuda regulatory).
• Record investment activity on funds withheld and modified coinsurance portfolios and reconcile data to GL.
• Account for limited partnerships, funds, and other alternative investments, including equity method accounting and capital calls.
• Review external asset manager reporting and resolve accounting and data issues.
• Monitor accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure integrity of postings and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely completion of monthly and quarterly close processes and reporting deadlines.
• Prepare investment accounting notes and disclosures for management and external reporting.
• Develop and enhance reporting tools including reconciliation of investment accounting data.
• Maintain controls over investment accounting processes with narratives and audit support.
• Prepare schedules and reports for year-end financial statements and external audits.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Investments, Corporate Accounting, and Strategic Initiatives.
