Zusammenfassung

The City of New York's Department of Probation seeks two Investigators to conduct sensitive fact-finding inquiries involving department employees and operations. You will interview witnesses, prepare reports, and advise on disciplinary actions under the Internal Control Office, collaborating with other divisions and the NYC Department of Investigation.

Qualifikationen

• Four-year high school diploma and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in accounting, auditing, correction administration, criminal justice administration and planning, forensic science, or security; or
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; or
• Education and/or experience equivalent to (1) or (2) above.

Aufgaben

• Conduct difficult and complex investigations into allegations of employee misconduct.
• Interview witnesses and subjects; prepare reports on investigation findings.
• Make recommendations to the Department Advocate on disciplinary action.
• Work closely with the NYC Department of Investigation.
• Perform surveillance on employees related to time and leave abuse and residency.
• Utilize investigatory databases, public records, telephone records and social media platforms.
• Testify at administrative disciplinary hearings and trials.
• Monitor all criminal cases involving Department employees.
• Conduct field investigations and surveillance as required.
