Job summary

Major League Baseball is seeking an Investigative Intern in the Department of Investigations in New York to assist with confidential matters concerning players, umpires and personnel. This Spring 2027 internship offers exposure at the intersection of sports, compliance and investigations in a fast-paced professional setting.

Responsibilities include supporting investigations into misconduct, preparing reports, gathering publicly available information and drafting memoranda after interviews.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage deliverables against time-sensitive deadlines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Support investigations into allegations related to performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other violations of baseball rules and policies.
• Prepare timely reports of information gathered, presenting information in an organised and user-friendly format.
• Gather and analyse publicly available information, including government records, social media, and news reports.
• Conduct research and prepare drafts of memoranda following interviews.
• Monitor and develop alerts for relevant court filings and social media updates.
• Secure and preserve data and publicly available information.
• Review and analyse documents, including organising documents on a document review platform.
• Perform related duties as required.

About the Role

Salary

• $20.00 Per hour
