Job summary

WVUE in New Orleans is seeking an experienced, aggressive news reporter. The candidate must be able to work in a highly functioning newsroom, be a self-starter with an investigative mindset, and craft strong broadcast and multi-platform content.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a television reporter in a top 125 market.
• BS/BA in Journalism/Communications or equivalent background.
• Flexible work hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, holidays, weekends; willingness to work in New Orleans, LA.

Responsibilities

• Live shots, write and post multiple stories daily for broadcast and FOX 8's multimedia platforms.
• Manage breaking news and severe weather coverage; make sound split-second decisions during live broadcasts.
• Post to the web, engage on social media, and gather user-generated content.
