The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an Investigative Analyst in the Child Abuse Bureau of the Special Victims Division. This bureau is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of serious crimes against children under 14.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist ADAs in subpoenaing, collecting, analyzing, and preparing case documents.
- Perform in-depth computer searches of investigative targets.
- Create visual aids such as graphs, diagrams, spreadsheets, and charts.
- Present findings orally and in writing for investigations, Grand Jury, and trial preparations.
- Analyze data like medical records, financial documents, phone records, surveillance videos, and other case data.
- Conduct forensic previews and analysis on electronic devices.
- Review and analyze visual media related to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) cases.
- Testify at Grand Jury, hearings, and trials.
- Assist in executing search warrants and interviewing victims, witnesses, informants, and defendants.
- Maintain databases, filing, and records management systems.
- Provide audio/visual support at trials.
- Perform administrative and paralegal duties as needed.
- Handle special projects and other related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Level 1: Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
Preferred Skills:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Prior law enforcement or investigative experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and familiarity with Clear, Bloomberg, CityNet systems.
- Knowledge of open-source search strategies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
