Job summary

Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) seeks an Investigator for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel to lead investigations into alleged ethical misconduct by legal professionals. You will formulate plans, collect evidence, and prepare clear reports for use by ODC.

The role involves interviewing, accessing public records, and coordinating with counsel to overcome obstacles while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics. Hybrid work within Washington state is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law (or related discipline) degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience investigating, practicing law, or similar work involving interviewing and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform investigations assigned by Investigative Manager or Disciplinary Counsel.
  • Conduct interviews, obtain records, review and analyze documents, and prepare timelines and reports.
  • Draft subpoenas, review bank and court records, and maintain evidence chains of custody.
