Job summary

Howard Industries in Laurel, MS, seeks a seasoned Inverter/UPS Design Engineer to join our power-solutions team. You will lead end-to-end development of high-performance inverter and UPS systems for industrial, utility, and energy applications.

The role covers concept to production, including DC-DC/DC-AC topologies, grid synchronization, battery management integration, EMI/EMC and thermal optimization, and ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, UL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics.
• 5+ years experience in inverter and/or UPS design.
• Strong expertise in UPS architecture and operation.
• Control systems and digital power conversion knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop inverter and UPS systems (online, solar, offline, line-interactive).
• Work on DC-DC and DC-AC converter topologies.
• Grid synchronization and UPS transfer control features.
• Battery charging systems and BMS integration.
• Static switches and bypass system design.
• Thermal and EMI/EMC considerations for reliable operation.
• System validation, testing, and debug to meet IEC, IEEE, UL standards.
