Performance Food Group is seeking a Warehouse Lead to oversee the warehouse crew under the direction of the warehouse manager or supervisor. The role emphasizes maintaining clean, safe work areas and ensuring timely shipping/receiving while upholding quality standards.

You will work as a team member within the department, performing duties to best serve the company, including equipment checks, safety adherence, and supporting management as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of warehouse/distribution exposure preferred.
• Able to work overtime and varied shifts as needed.
• Able to work in dry, cooler, and freezer environments.
• Physical ability to lift and stack 10–80 lbs repeatedly.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide the warehouse crew under supervisor direction.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse areas.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and ensure quality standards.
• Operate forklift/pallet jack and perform safety checks.
• Support inventory tasks, put-away, and replenishment as required.
• Provide backup support to warehouse management and complete paperwork.

Position Summary:

Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:

• Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.


• Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.


• Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.


• Perform daily safety check of the assigned forklift / pallet jack in accordance with company policy.


• Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.


• Assist warehouse crew with duties in emergency and non-emergency situations.


• Perform damage control checks on items received and contact supervisor about removing items according to company policy.


• Perform selection, shipping, receiving, forklift put-away/replenishment, returns, auditing and/or other warehouse duties per business need.


• Provide oversight, direction and input on work performed by associates in assigned area.


• Perform general housekeeping duties and keep warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required. Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.


• Provide backup support to warehouse management


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience


• 1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment


• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position


• Able to work in a multi-temperature environment (dry, cooler, freezer)


• Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift


• Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout shift


• Pass pre-employment drug test


• Basic computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)


• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2-4 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment using forklift and/or pallet jack


• Team Lead experience


• Administrative support work experience


• Warehouse systems experience i.e. Voxware, scanning, AS400, formula based pay plans


• Foodservice distribution or related industry experience


• OSHA Forklift operator certificate
