Job summary

Vistar, America's leading candy, snack, and beverage distributor, is seeking a Warehouse Lead to oversee the crew under the warehouse manager. You will maintain work areas, assist with shipping/receiving, and ensure safety and quality standards while keeping product flow efficient.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, preparing daily paperwork, operating forklifts as needed, and aiding the team in emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years in warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to work scheduled times and overtime as needed.
• Able to operate in multi-temperature environment (dry/cooler/freezer).
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift repeatedly throughout shift.
• Able to lift 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and keep work area safe, reporting hazards.
• Obtain daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
• Wear required PPE and safety gear.</li> (trimmed)
• Perform safety checks on forklift/pallet jack per policy.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards per guidelines.
• Assist warehouse crew in emergencies and routine duties.
• Perform shipping, receiving, pallet put-away, returns, and audits.
• Provide guidance and input to associates in the area.
• Maintain housekeeping and secure equipment at shift end.

Position Summary:

Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:

• Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.


• Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.


• Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.


• Perform daily safety check of the assigned forklift / pallet jack in accordance with company policy.


• Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.


• Assist warehouse crew with duties in emergency and non-emergency situations.


• Perform damage control checks on items received and contact supervisor about removing items according to company policy.


• Perform selection, shipping, receiving, forklift put-away/replenishment, returns, auditing and/or other warehouse duties per business need.


• Provide oversight, direction and input on work performed by associates in assigned area.


• Perform general housekeeping duties and keep warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required. Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.


• Provide backup support to warehouse management


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience


• 1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment

• Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift


• Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout shift


• Pass pre-employment drug test


• Basic computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)


• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2-4 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment using forklift and/or pallet jack


• Team Lead experience


• Administrative support work experience


• Warehouse systems experience i.e. Voxware, scanning, AS400, formula based pay plans


• Foodservice distribution or related industry experience


• OSHA Forklift operator certificate
