Job summary

Maddox is seeking an Inventory Technician to join our shop team in a fast-paced, outdoors-ready environment where you will test and evaluate dry-type and liquid-filled transformers. You will use electrical test equipment, document results, and help with loading and unloading transformers from flatbed trucks.

Qualifications

• We value welding, fabrication, general shop/mechanical skills and are open to training early-career candidates.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, or mechanical trades is preferred.
• Hands-on problem solving and ability to troubleshoot are essential.

• Disassemble, troubleshoot, and perform quality control on transformers.

About Maddox + You:

As an Inventory technician, you would be working in a shop environment where your technical and mechanical skills will be deployed to test and evaluate dry-type and liquid-filled transformers.

This is not an assembly-line factory job. It’s a fast-paced, hard-working, but very rewarding environment where you will be part of a team of qualified inventory technicians who test and evaluate industrial transformers. Your day-to-day activities will involve operating electrical test equipment and power tools to test, evaluate, disassemble, troubleshoot, and quality control electrical transformers. You will document test results, mechanical condition, dimensions, and accessories for each transformer. You will also operate forklifts and cranes to organize inventory, load, and unload transformers from flatbed trucks. Most of the job is spent on your feet, working with your hands, and outdoors whether rain or shine.

• You love working with your hands to fix things and troubleshoot problems.
• You get to the bottom of an issue so you understand exactly what is or is not working.
• You’re comfortable with online documentation and web-based software systems (with computer & smartphone).
• You’re an excellent communicator; in-person, over the phone, and via email.
• You’re a quick learner; not a know-it-all.

Basics:

• This position works 40-45 hours per week on a 5-day schedule. All day-time schedule (not night shift). The schedule is 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Some additional paid overtime is available during peak times.
• Employees are required to meet basic physical requirements for a heavy-equipment environment with 90-100% of the time on your feet. Occasional exposure to confined spaces. Must know how to use basic hand tools, follow written instructions, operate a computer or tablet, etc.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range = (wages + bonus)
• Comprehensive full-time benefits package averaging $20,000+ per year (amount varies based on age, family size, and eligibility), including:
