Job summary

Maddox Industrial Transformer is seeking an Inventory technician to test and evaluate liquid-filled transformers in a yard environment. You will use electrical test equipment and power tools to test, disassemble, troubleshoot, and perform quality control on transformers, documenting results and specifications.

The role involves forklift/crane operation, organizing inventory, and loading/unloading units from trucks.

Qualifications

• Welding, fabrication, and general shop/mechanical skills required or trained.
• Willing to train early-career candidates with the right attitude.
• Experience with auto body prep/paint is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test, disassemble, troubleshoot, and QC liquid-filled transformers.
• Document test results, mechanical condition, dimensions, and accessories.

As an Inventory technician, you would be working in a storage and staging yard environment where your technical and mechanical skills will be deployed to test and evaluate liquid-filled transformers.

This is not an assembly-line factory job. It’s a fast-paced, hard-working, but very rewarding environment where you will be part of a team of qualified inventory technicians who test and evaluate industrial transformers. Your day-to-day activities will involve operating electrical test equipment and power tools to test, evaluate, disassemble, troubleshoot, and quality control electrical transformers. You will document test results, mechanical condition, dimensions, and accessories for each transformer. You will also operate forklifts and cranes to organize inventory, load, and unload transformers from flatbed trucks. Most of the job is spent on your feet, working with your hands, and outdoors whether rain or shine.

• You’re comfortable with online documentation and web-based software systems (with computer & smartphone)

Basics:

• This position works 40-45 hours per week on a 5-day schedule. All day-time schedule (not night shift). The schedule is 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Some additional paid overtime is available and occasionally mandatory during peak seasons.
• Employees are required to meet basic physical requirements for a heavy-equipment environment with 90% or more of the time on your feet and outdoors. Occasional exposure to confined spaces. Must know how to use basic hand tools, follow written instructions, operate a computer or tablet, etc.

Pay:

Starting package $56k-$72k (wages and bonus) plus a comprehensive full-time benefits package that averages more than an additional $20k/year per employee (individual amounts vary on age, family size, and other factors).
