The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inventory control functions within the cold storage warehouse, ensuring inventory accuracy, product traceability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role will lead inventory processes, cycle counting programs, product audits, customer inventory reconciliation, and warehouse management system (WMS) integrity while maintaining compliance with BRCGS Food Safety Standards, OSHA regulations, and MEDLOG Cold Storage policies and procedures. The Inventory Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for inventory-related issues and works closely with warehouse operations, customer service, quality assurance, and management teams to ensure inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Manage and oversee all inventory control activities within the warehouse.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged product issues.
  • Monitor product location integrity and ensure proper inventory transactions within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of customer inventory.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain product traceability and lot control in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate annual and customer-requested physical inventory counts.
Compliance & Quality Management
  • Ensure compliance with BRCGS Global Standards, food safety programs, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inventory management practices that support traceability, recall readiness, stock rotation, and product integrity.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Ensure inventory records, reports, and documentation are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs related to inventory and quality findings.
  • Follow and enforce all MEDLOG Cold Storage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Safety Leadership
  • Promote and enforce OSHA regulations and safe warehouse operating practices.
  • Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment and adherence to company safety policies.
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Foster a safety-first culture throughout the inventory control team.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop inventory control personnel.
  • Establish performance expectations and monitor employee productivity and accuracy.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Schedule and allocate resources to support inventory workload demands.
  • Cross-train employees to ensure operational continuity and flexibility.
Operational Support
  • Work closely with Operations Managers and Supervisors to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Support inbound, outbound, and storage activities through inventory management best practices.
  • Communicate inventory concerns and operational risks to management promptly.
  • Assist with customer inquiries, claims investigations, and inventory-related reporting.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in cold storage, food-grade warehousing, or temperature-controlled logistics preferred.
  • Experience working within BRCGS-certified facilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory reporting software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of BRCGS standards, food safety requirements, and product traceability practices.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
  • Ability to interpret inventory data and prepare management reports.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen warehouse environments as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate or work safely around material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to perform warehouse inspections and inventory audits throughout the facility.
