An Inventory Specialist reports to the General Manager and is responsible for HUB operations, including the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Pull and ship HUB orders on schedule.
- If a HUB order cannot be filled, contact the servicing store before the next HUB run to explain reordering procedures.
- Coordinate with store management to complete all parts department cycle counts, including OUTs.
- Assist in completing all parts department plan-o-grams with store management.
- Work with store management to stock all parts in the parts department.
- Coordinate callbacks in the parts department with store management.
- Assist with MAXI changes in the parts department.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Complete required training and attend scheduled store meetings.
- Under the direction of the General Manager, train and develop team members to ensure HUB operation aligns with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate product delivery, maintain inventories, and keep operational records or prepare daily transaction reports.
- Help ensure security, customer service, and record-keeping policies are followed.

- Effective oral and written communication skills, with basic math proficiency.
- Prior retail experience, including merchandising and inventory management.
- Ability to operate a forklift (if certified), hand truck, and pallet jack.
- Well-mannered, neat appearance, and capable of unbiased public interaction.
- Demonstrated stability and performance in previous roles.
- Flexibility to work on short notice, including nights and weekends.
- Report any policy violations immediately to management.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Demands
- Constant standing or walking.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Good vision, manual dexterity, and ability to reach, squat, bend, and climb as needed.
Work Environment
Primarily inside (about 95%), with climate control depending on season. Exposure to battery acid requires eye protection and aprons (not mandatory). Safety precautions are necessary when operating forklifts or hand pallet jacks.
