Job description

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.

Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that.

Atoms builds Physical AI— real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.

This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don’t just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.

We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.

If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.

About the role

As an Inventory Specialist, you will own inventory accuracy and the system of record across our production facilities. While the warehouse team moves material, you make sure the data matches reality: you design and maintain the bin location system, run the cycle count program, reconcile every discrepancy, and control access to high-value stock. In an operation scaling toward 1,000 vehicles, your work is what keeps the build plan trustworthy and prevents stock-outs before they stop the line.

What you’ll do
  • Own the inventory system of record; hold sole authority for inventory adjustments and reconciliations
  • Design, implement, and maintain bin locations across facilities so every part has a defined home
  • Own and perform the cycle count program end to end: schedule counts, count physically, analyze results, and drive root‑cause on repeat misses
  • Reconcile discrepancies surfaced at receiving, picking, kitting, and counting; document findings and corrective actions
  • Manage the stock cage: control access, track issuance, and maintain accountability for high‑value components
  • Maintain min/max thresholds per part; flag stock‑outs and shortage risks to the Buyer and Supply Chain Manager before they hit the build plan
  • Maintain serialized traceability records (PO to serial to VIN) and support audits
  • Report inventory accuracy metrics weekly and drive continuous improvement in count accuracy and record discipline
  • Support inventory setup for new production sites as they come online
What we’re looking for
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in inventory control, inventory analysis, or warehouse operations with direct cycle count responsibility
  • Strong data discipline: comfortable working in inventory/ERP systems and spreadsheets daily
  • Proven ability to investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies to root cause
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing bin location systems, cycle count programs, or inventory controls from scratch
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or WMS systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with serialized or lot‑controlled inventory and traceability requirements
  • Background in manufacturing, automotive, robotics, or technology hardware environments
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday while performing counts and audits
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, and access stock locations at varying heights

At Atoms, you’ll work on one of the defining challenges of our time—bringing automation into the physical world to drive real, lasting impact. We exist to uncover valuable unknown truths and turn them into progress, which means constantly pushing beyond what’s known and building what doesn’t yet exist. The work is ambitious and often challenging, but it’s grounded in a shared sense of purpose and a team committed to seeing it through together. Our work only matters if it serves others, and we know that meaningful progress depends on the trust of the people we serve and the strength of our team—so we invest in both, creating an environment where you can do your best work and grow.
