Job Description

Come join the staff at the OU College of Dentistry as an Inventory Specialist. This position provides support to our dental clinics by maintaining and sterilizing equipment, maintaining the stockroom, distributing equipment, maintaining the inventory, and providing light administrative assistance.

Duties:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintains equipment and supplies. Ensures they are properly sterilized, stored, and in good condition.
  • Sterilization: Sterilizes equipment.
  • Stockroom Maintenance: Maintains the stockroom in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Equipment Distribution: Distributes equipment and technical supplies. May set up equipment or prepare solutions.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Maintains records of inventory, requisitions, etc. Identifies needs for equipment and supplies.
  • Administrative Assistance: Provides administrative assistance by answering phones, greeting visitors, running errands, etc. May provide information regarding clinic procedures, types of supplies typically used for equipment, etc.
  • Lead Employee: Acts as a lead employee by training new employees, and reporting personnel issues to supervisor such as progress, deficiencies, and performance of other Technical Supply Clerks. Serves as a back-up employee, and provides assistance when needed.
  • As Needed: Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required education: High School diploma or GED, AND:
  • 12 months experience working in a laboratory, stock room, or closely related experience.
Skills:
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills

Working Conditions: Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
