Job summary

Fiberlight is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support warehouse operations, receiving, storing, tracking, staging, and distributing materials and equipment. You will work with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, and Operations to ensure inventory accuracy and availability for projects.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 2 years in inventory/logistics, with experience in ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of inventory, warehouse, logistics, or related operational experience.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues as necessary.
  • Stage, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts using inventory management software and manual tracking processes.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to management.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits.
  • Reconcile inventory variances and investigate root causes of discrepancies.
  • Process inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, returns, and shipments within the ERP system.
  • Maintain warehouse bin locations, shelving assignments, and inventory storage layouts.
  • Ensure all inventory items are properly identified, labeled, and traceable.
  • Maintain serialized asset tracking and chain-of-custody records for equipment and materials.
  • Track product movements and inventory status to ensure real-time accuracy.
  • Pick, pack, and stage materials and equipment for project deployments.
  • Verify material readiness and completeness prior to shipment.
  • Coordinate project material requirements with Project Managers, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Ensure project materials are available according to project schedules and deployment requirements.
  • Prepare shipment documentation and coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Support emergency or expedited material requests to prevent project delays.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Utilize proper material handling practices to prevent injury or equipment damage.
  • Ensure inventory storage practices comply with safety and operational requirements.
  • Maintain an audit-ready warehouse environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding inventory availability and material status.
  • Assist with logistics, material movement, and operational support activities as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and warehouse operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Description

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting warehouse operations through the receiving, storage, tracking, staging, and distribution of materials and equipment. This role ensures inventory accuracy, supports project fulfillment requirements, maintains serialized asset tracking, and assists in establishing and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure equipment availability and inventory integrity.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Tracking

Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience performing inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and inventory audits.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to accurately handle large volumes of inventory transactions.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
