Job summary

ABC Supply Co. Inc. is seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to support inventory management, cycle counts, and product ordering at our Michigan location.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely replenishment, and collaboration with store teams to keep shelves well stocked. You will engage with manufacturers and other branches, process purchase requests, and help resolve supplier questions. Building materials knowledge is required to understand customer needs and ensure the right products

Qualifications

• 1–2 years purchasing/inventory control preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid time management and prioritization skills.
• Superior organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Cycle counting experience.
• Building materials field experience required.

Responsibilities

• Determine customers’ needs and recommend products/solutions.
• Follow product checklist and upsell related items.
• Answer customer questions and provide product advice.
• Order products from other ABC Supply branches when needed.
• Coordinate warehouse pickup for customers.
• Reorder products to keep shelves stocked.
• Address and resolve customer concerns when applicable.
• Place orders with manufacturers and vendors.
• Receive inbound material into the system.
• Perform regular cycle counts.

Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am- 4pm

Specific duties may include:

• Determining customers’ needs and recommending appropriate products and solutions
• Following ABC’s product/supply checklist for each customer’s specific job and up-selling additional products and supplies for that job
• Answering customer questions and offering product advice
• Ordering products from other ABC Supply branches when necessary
• Arranging with the warehouse for customer product pickup
• Reordering products to keep the store and warehouse shelves well stocked
• Addressing and resolving customer concerns when necessary
• Ordering from manufacturers and related vendors
• Receiving inbound material into system
• Performing cycle counts

Specific qualifications include:

• 1-2 years’ experience in purchasing and inventory control is preferred

• Building materials field experience is required
