Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is hiring a PCIC Specialist (1st shift) to coordinate purchasing, production control, and inventory management in a manufacturing setting.

The role supports on-time material availability, accurate records, and collaboration across purchasing, production, and warehousing teams. Ideal candidates have a strong eye for detail, experience with ERP systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal partners to optimize inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with purchasing/procurement.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze inventory/purchasing data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Prioritize multiple tasks in changing production environments.
• Proficient with computers and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing and customer demand.
• Monitor material requirements to align with production schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders and delivery dates in ERP.
• Follow up with suppliers on late or at-risk deliveries.
• Identify shortages and communicate potential impacts to production.
• Conduct cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support optimization initiatives.
• Review supplier pricing and performance with purchasing.
• Resolve invoice/purchase-order discrepancies with internal/external partners.
