Job summary

RealTruck Inc. is seeking an Inventory Planning Analyst to optimize inventory across the network.

You will analyze inventory requirements, develop policies, and support strategies balancing product availability, customer service, and working capital objectives. You will partner with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Operations, and Procurement to drive improved inventory health, manage dashboards and KPIs, and implement EOQ and replenishment policies that align with lifecycle changes and demand

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related analytical field.
  • 2–5+ years in Supply Chain or Operational Finance.
  • Expertise in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Management.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and improvement of Inventory Planning processes within RealTruck S&OP.
  • Analyze inventory levels across plants, DCs, and product groups to identify shortages, excess, and obsolescence.
  • Review inventory targets and parameters to align with demand, lead times, and corporate objectives.
  • Develop and maintain inventory policies including safety stock, replenishment, and EOQ.
  • Create and monitor dashboards and KPIs such as days of supply, turns, fill rate, and service level.
  • Analyze inventory positioning and recommend improvements to product availability and deployment.
  • Assess historical demand, forecast performance, and consumption patterns to optimize stocking strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization and working capital reduction.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and work with cross-functional teams on mitigation actions.

Job description

The Inventory Planning Analyst will support the inventory planning and optimization function for RealTruck. The primary purpose of this role is to analyze inventory requirements, develop and maintain inventory policies, and support strategies that balance product availability, customer service, and working capital objectives. This role will partner cross-functionally with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Operations, Procurement, and other business functions to improve inventory health across the network.

CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Inventory Planning processes and procedures within the RealTruck S&OP process.
  • Analyze inventory levels across plants, distribution centers, and product groups to identify shortages, excess and obsolete inventory, and opportunities to improve inventory health and working capital.
  • Conduct regular reviews of inventory targets and planning parameters to ensure inventory policies remain aligned with changes in demand, lead times, supply performance, product lifecycle, and corporate inventory objectives.
  • Support the development and maintenance of inventory policies, including safety stock levels, stocking strategies, replenishment parameters, minimum and maximum inventory levels, economic order quantities, and Kanban sizing.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze inventory dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory value, days of supply, inventory turns, fill rate, service level, excess and obsolete inventory, and inventory performance versus target.
  • Analyze inventory positioning across the distribution and manufacturing network and provide recommendations to improve product availability, reduce excess inventory, and optimize inventory deployment.
  • Analyze historical demand, forecast performance, lead times, order quantities, and inventory consumption patterns to identify opportunities to improve inventory planning parameters and stocking strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, working capital reduction, service-level improvement, and increased visibility into inventory performance across the network.
  • Identify slow-moving and excess inventory and partner with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation strategies, including inventory rebalancing, consumption plans, stocking policy changes, and other corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, or a similarly analytical discipline is required.
  • 2-5+ years of related experience in Supply Chain or Operational Finance required.
  • Expertise in Demand Planning/Supply Planning/Inventory Management.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
  • Versed with best-in-class ERP/MRP systems (use, calibration, setting of parameters) and other useful platforms (Excel, Access).
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate numerical data utilizing analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales and finance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
