Inventory Planner and Sourcing Specialist

The Inventory Planner must be organized and detail-oriented in order to manage our inventory management processes and systems. The responsibilities include sales analysis, maintaining adequate stock levels, conducting regular audits, analyzing supply chain data, and forecasting future supply needs. Ultimately, the role of the Inventory Planner is to ensure our stock levels are sufficient for business operations but also optimized to avoid surplus stocks and related costs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform analysis of sales, inventory levels and product demands
• Maintain updated and accurate record of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts.
• Forecasting demand for products and creating inventory plans to ensure availability of stock
• Coordinating with sales and marketing teams to align inventory with promotional activities
• Implementing inventory management processes to avoid product overstock and outages
• Regularly reviewing and adjusting inventory plans based on actual sales
• Collaborating with warehouse, product development, customer service and other operational partners
• Partner with Accounts Payable to reconcile and ensure accuracy of invoices and product receipts
• Monitoring and reporting on key inventory metrics like stock turnover, in stock rates and stockouts
• Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, streamline operations, and improve inventory turns
• Ensuring compliance with supply chain practices and company inventory management procedures.
• Sourcing and purchasing raw materials and components directly with suppliers
• Maintaining and coordinating communication with suppliers
• Creating and maintaining purchase orders

Requirements

Education and Experience
• Proven work experience as an inventory planner or similar role
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports

• BS/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field
