Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage materials movement, stock levels, and cycle counts on the 1st shift, fully onsite. You will ensure proper handling of materials, maintain records, and work with procurement to optimize inventory.

Ideal candidates will have a HS Diploma with 3+ years in inventory control, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to analyze data and follow established procedures.

Qualifications

• HSD, plus 3+ years of experience within inventory control and supply chain.
• Must be able to work full-time onsite in Columbus, OH.
• Understanding of material control, inventory, purchasing, supply chain.
• Strong proficiency with MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Ability to organize and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Performs inventory movement and clerical duties in the materials control area, such as receiving, stocking, and issuing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Work is performed in accordance with established materials control, inventory, warehousing and purchasing procedures.
• Takes initiative to improve work product and processes; adapts methods to different situations.
• May be accountable for reviewing work of less experienced employees for quality and content.
• Can resolve unusual, nonstandard problems; refers significant deviations to supervisor.
• Ensures quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements.
• Participates in cycle count process and physical inventories.
• Creates and maintains material transaction records (receipts, transfers, issues, returns, shipments, adjustments).
• Enters and maintains purchase orders in manual and computer systems.
• Coordinates replacement of stock and expenses items with procurement personnel.
• Prepares reports and inventory analyses as required.
• May maintain receiving, stock, and shipping duties per procedures; may fill requests for parts and issue components.
