Job summary

Fellowes Brands in Itasca, IL is seeking an Inventory Planner / Buyer to manage planning, purchasing, and inventory for a defined product portfolio. You will coordinate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to balance customer service, cost, and inventory investments.

The role requires at least two years in planning or procurement, experience with ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle), and strong Excel skills. Travel is minimal and annual incentives may be offered.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum of planning, purchasing, inventory management, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Experience with MRP, inventory planning, purchasing and purchase-order management processes.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud or similar.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 data analysis and reporting skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and purchasing for assigned products to support service-level, inventory, and ROI objectives.
• Execute MRP and translate demand into timely purchasing and inventory actions.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders, including supplier acknowledgements and follow-ups.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, excess inventory, and risks to service.
• Partner with suppliers to meet delivery, quality, cost, service, and inventory goals.
• Track inbound shipments and coordinate delays with suppliers and logistics.
• Review and approve sales orders in NetSuite and communicate backorders to Customer Service.
• Create and manage drop-ship purchase orders for direct-to-customer fulfillment.
• Maintain item, supplier, pricing, and purchasing data in NetSuite/Oracle Cloud.
• Review supplier cost changes and negotiate product, freight, and other costs.
• Work with AP to resolve discrepancies.
• Support warehouse operations for inventory-related activities.
• Collaborate across functions for new product launches and product transitions.
• Monitor KPIs on inventory, service levels, supplier delivery, and availability.
• Identify process improvements for planning accuracy and data integrity.
• Develop knowledge of NetSuite and Microsoft 365 reporting tools.
• Travel domestically <5%.
• Additional duties as assigned.
