Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support daily operations across stores. You will resolve complex inventory issues, assist field teams with movement and receiving activities, and manage adjustments and transfers to ensure on-hand accuracy.

This role includes RFID tasks, participation in monthly close processes, and collaboration with multiple partners to identify efficiency opportunities. A Bachelor's Degree and 3–5 years of experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex inventory issues to ensure accuracy of on-hand inventory.
• Support store/field teams with inventory movement and receiving applications.
• Manage and track inquiries from field and partners in the inventory support mailboxes.
• Manage tasks including inventory adjustments, cost adjustments, and transfers.
• Support RFID related tasks, including store visits and reporting.
• Balance key processes for monthly financial close.
• Participate in inventory management of Licensed Merchandise events.
• Present metrics in monthly department scorecard meetings.
• Review processes to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Assist supervisor and manager as needed.

Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Daily Operations Including

• Resolve complex inventory related issues to ensure the accuracy of the company’s on-hand inventory position.
• Support store/field teams as well as other business partners with inventory movement and receiving applications.
• Manage and track questions and issues from field and business partners in the inventory support mailboxes to ensure timely resolution and responses.
• Manage key tasks including inventory adjustments, Cost Adjustments, Average Cost Reviews, Dropship PO Exceptions, Aged Store to Store transfers, and DC shipments.
• Support and participate in RFID related tasks, including store visits/audits, adjustment processing, and reporting
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly balancing of key processes to ensure compliance and accuracy for financial monthly close.
• Participate in the inventory management of Licensed Merchandise Hot Market Events, including MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, Collegiate Athletics, and others as needed
• Present metrics and address questions in monthly department score card meetings
• Review processes and task regularly to identify potential efficiency opportunities
• Support the supervisor and manager on the team as needed

Physical Inventory Cycle Tasks Including

• Total reconciliation and posting ownership over a select number of stores for each physical inventory cycle.
• Address all store/field issues, questions, etc. related to assigned physical inventory stores
• Identify, process, track, and balance all “During Adjustments” including, but not limited to: PI Common Issues, Open Transfers & Shipments, Duplicate Transfers & Claims, Invalid UPCs, OAR Variances, Over Received Pos

Special projects & analysis as assigned.
