Job summary

Staff Perm is seeking a Material Handling and Inventory Control Specialist in Wylie, TX. The role blends hands-on warehouse duties with proactive inventory management, on a contract-to-hire basis, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will purchase and receive project materials, move items with a forklift, and maintain accurate records while supporting general warehouse operations. The position offers a stable daytime schedule and potential for long-term employment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating a forklift (valid certification preferred).
• Experience in warehouse or material handling.
• Experience in inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Purchase and maintain all project materials.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Load and unload trucks following shipping and receiving procedures.
• Move materials within the warehouse efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with general warehouse organization and housekeeping.
