Job summary

ACME CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY in Portland, OR is seeking a Material Handler to fulfill orders, maintain inventory, and support loading/unloading delivery trucks. The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The position requires basic math/reading, the ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and the flexibility to handle kitting and staging tasks as needed. Competitive hourly pay with a monthly incentive bonus after 90 days.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year experience in a similar position is preferred.
• Experience with warehousing, logistics is a plus.
• Experience with RF devices is a plus.
• Experience with forklift and forklift certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Basic math and reading skills (in English) to interpret work orders, inventory labels, and safety information.

Responsibilities

• Locate material and pull orders using RF/warehouse procedures to fulfill orders.
• Unload product using a forklift and hand loading; put away product to designated areas.
• Check in incoming product using RF procedures, ensure deliveries match POs.
• Meet or exceed accuracy goals for order pulling and inventory.
• Prepare products for staging with labeling, palletizing or wrapping.
• Assemble products for custom non-stock orders.
• Safely operate equipment (forklift, pallet jack) as defined by position.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and follow safety policies.
• Assist with will-call loading/unloading per branch procedures.
• Assist with kitting duties and building transfers or work orders.
• Participate in cycle counts and team collaboration to optimize workflow.
• Attend material handling training as assigned and perform other duties.
