Job summary

Colonial Group is hiring for a warehouse/material handler-focused position in Iowa. You will receive, verify and ship shipments, maintain inventory records and stage material for production, with forklift and moving duties across the plant.

The role requires accurate records management, FIFO handling, and adherence to 5S and safety procedures. Strong teamwork and ability to follow complex instructions are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of parts and materials used in manufacturing operations, and some blueprint reading.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions for receiving, shipping and returns.
• Ability to train new hires within the department and work with CRS, Procurement and P&IC.
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors and freight lines about dates, quantities and POs.
• Ability to move material between departments to meet operational flow.
• Accurate PC functions, calculations/conversions and scale operations.
• Knowledge of part numbering system and inventory control procedures.
• Ability to recognize parts and part numbers.
• Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
• Safety-focused, with 5S participation.

Responsibilities

• Unload and accept shipments; verify against PO and BOL; notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Load outbound shipments; verify units with carrier; communicate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of components, finished goods and traceability in inventory.
• Check messaging and ensure non-stoppage in production areas; move scrap and materials as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and stage inventory for production; stage production packets.
• Return unused inventory to proper area with complete documentation.
• Ensure FIFO staging of parts and finished goods; support continuous production flow.
• Assist with 5S cleanliness and safety practices; participate in safety procedures.
