Job summary

Quixote Studios is seeking an Inventory Manager, Transportation, to own all inventory-related accounting within the Transportation division. The role designs and enforces SOX-compliant processes ensuring accurate recording of parts, consumables, and capital items in Eptura Asset (ManagerPlus).

You will build BOMs for trucks, trailers and generators, publish data-entry guidelines, and train the team to capture receipts, issues and returns in real time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in inventory management and/or procurement.
• 3+ years of team management experience.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business administration preferred.
• Experience with inventory software; Eptura Asset (ManagerPlus) preferred.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Job Summary:

The Inventory Manager, Transportation, owns all inventory-related accounting within the Transportation division. Beyond issuing work orders, this leader must design and enforce SOX-compliant processes that guarantee every part, consumable, and capital component is recorded at the correct quantity, cost, and location in Eptura Asset (ManagerPlus).

They will: (1) build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for every truck, trailer, and generator so technicians know exactly which parts to consume; (2) publish easy-to-follow data-entry guidelines and train the team to capture receipts, issues, and returns in real time; (3) run daily exception reports to catch negative on-hand balances, mismatched unit costs, and open POs; and (4) coordinate monthly cycle counts and quarterly wall-to-wall inventories, reconciling variances and submitting adjusting entries to Finance.

On the purchasing side, the manager owns the full Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflow for parts and consumables - launching competitive bids, issuing blanket POs that lock in volume discounts, matching invoices to receipts, and tracking accruals - while driving continuous cost reductions that keep inventory-related CAPEX and OPEX spend within budget.

What You'll Do:

• Inventory & Purchasing Control

  • Manage approximately five Transportation Parts Clerks—owning workload allocation, adherence to standardized purchasing workflows, and ongoing training on inventory accuracy and system data entry to ensure every material order is accurate, timely, and cost-efficient.

  • Monitor on-hand parts and consumables; set min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stocks.

  • Execute day-to-day purchasing (PO creation, vendor follow-up, receiving) and reconcile against CAPEX/OPEX budgets.

  • Run competitive bids for high-dollar parts and consumables contracts; negotiate price breaks and favorable payment terms with suppliers.

  • Centralize part material code creation and own Bills of Materials development and maintenance for all trucks, trailers, and generators.

  • Own Eptura Asset (ManagerPlus) inventory data integrity—part numbers, categories, and location hierarchy.

  • Maintain preferred-supplier scorecards on price, on-time delivery, and quality.

  • Track open orders, delivery ETAs, and backorders; communicate delays and mitigation plans to Operations and Sales.

• Process Improvement

  • Publish data-entry guidelines and lead monthly cycle counts and quarterly wall-to-wall physical inventories; reconcile variances and submit adjusting entries to Finance in accordance with SOX controls.

  • Run regular exception reports to catch negative on-hand balances, mismatched unit costs, and open POs.

  • Recommend tooling, process, or layout changes that cut turnaround time or reduce parts cost.

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years of experience in inventory management and/or procurement.

• 3+ years of team management experience.

• Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Proven track record of designing and/or overhauling inventory control processes (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business administration preferred.

• Experience with inventory software; Eptura Asset (ManagerPlus) preferred.

• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
