About the Role:
The Inventory Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all inventory at Fine Fettle. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, storage, organization, and proper disposal, while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and all applicable state regulations.
In addition to operational ownership, the Inventory Manager leads and supports all team members involved in inventory processes, including Dispensary Agents and
Retail Team Leads, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, approachable, and solutions-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and leadership. This individual contributes directly to the overall efficiency and success of the store by ensuring seamless inventory operations and supporting a positive, team-focused environment.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day retail operations, including sales performance, team training and development, inventory management, and establishing clear and effective communication channels across the organization.
- Conduct daily and weekly audits to ensure inventory accuracy and meet state regulatory requirements.
- Complete inventory discrepancy investigations and report a weekly “Inventory Audit Summary Report”.
- Monitor Cannabis Return Tracker and submit credit requests on the 1st of each month.
- Responsible for ensuring product bins are properly stocked and labeled to ensure the wall space is organized in a seamless manner.
- Bin overstock and vault overstock are managed everyday to ensure product movement aligns with sales demands.
- Oversee the on-site disposal process.
- Manage product expiration dates to ensure the product is being sold in a timely manner.
- Must maintain safe, clean, and organized inventory areas to avoid pests and termite issues.
- Participate in staff meetings to continue to train dispensary staff on regulatory regulations and processes pertaining to inventory management.
- Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Provides administrative assistance as needed
- Cash handling efforts including but not limited to: start of day and end of day cash procedures, facilitating cash drops throughout the day, and identifying and resolving any cash-related issues.
- Responsible for store opening and closing procedures and processes.
- Supports the General Manager with training of Dispensary Agents to follow standard operating procedures, as well as provide in-the-moment coaching.
- Conduct sales floor audits to ensure product review and product scanning is accurately executed, avoiding manual product allocation to customer carts.
- Provides monthly updates on a quarterly basis through the OKR system
- Ensures that all sellable products within the facility are available and live on the menu
- Ensures deliveries are properly received, received in the system, and barcodes are printed out before departing for the day
- Proactively drives sales by being early carriers of new and exciting products
- Assists on the sales floor, as needed
- Ensures loss prevention and security policies and practices are being followed
- Serves as a resource for any inventory questions, suggestions and concerns
- Executes any other duties assigned by General Manager
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older per the requirement set by the Department of Consumer Protection
- High school diploma is required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent applicable experience is necessary
- 1+ years of cannabis industry experience highly preferred
- Knowledge about cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods is preferred
- General knowledge of weights, measurements and conversions is valuable
- Retail experience is highly preferred
- Prior experience working in a fast paced, customer focused retail environment is advantageous
- Bilingual or proficiency in Spanish is beneficial
- Great organizational skills, efficient at multitasking and must be a self starter
- Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working on a computer
- Experience with state seed-to-sale system preferred
- Experience with Dutchie POS and Backoffice
- Experience with Jane Business and Retail
- Ability to work independently in a high paced, timeline-driven setting
- Ability to complete and maintain on-going education and professional development as needed
- Commitment to adhere to all state and local medical and recreational cannabis regulations, statutes, laws, and guidance
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Flexibility regarding work schedule
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts, including scheduled opening and closing shifts, is required
- Ability to meet and maintain all applicable state-mandated licensing requirements as a condition of employment
- Ability to pass a Federal Background Check with no felony convictions
