Job summary

Nike, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inventory Operations Manager to launch and stabilize the Wolf Creek Distribution Center in Atlanta, GA.

You will lead inventory accuracy, drive KPI-based improvements, and partner with Nike Operations and 3PL leadership to ensure compliant, on-hand inventory. In this role you will manage startup activities, refine roles and escalation, and use data to optimize distribution processes, with emphasis on WMS-enabled operations and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years of operations-management experience in distribution or manufacturing.
  • 2 additional years may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience supporting startup, facility transition, major implementation, or operational transformation.
  • 3PL experience with partner model to support supply-chain needs.
  • Solid understanding of automated distribution systems and WMS-enabled operations.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS, SAP, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methods preferred.
  • Proven project-management across multiple interdependent workstreams.
  • Strong analytical, strategic-planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills; able to influence at multiple levels.
  • Ability to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce and lead with servant leadership.
  • Handle confidential matters professionally and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts during testing, launch, and stabilization.

Location-Wolf Creek Distribution Center-Atlanta, GA

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Inventory Operations Manager to help launch and stabilize the Wolf Creek Distribution Center, a brownfield 3PL operation. You will serve as the key Nike Inventory leader for this site and partner closely with the Nike Operations team and 3PL management team to ensure the inventory within the facility is accurate, available, and financially compliant.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

As the Inventory Operations Manager, you will work in a variety of roles including:

  • Lead inventory validation programs that comply with company policies and provide ongoing measurements on inventory KPI’s for a Distribution Center.
  • Leverage data to analyze and root cause issues related to Inventory and drive outcomes through continuous improvement programs.
  • In partnership with the Nike Operations leadership team, define and reinforce roles, decision rights, communication routines, KPI reviews, escalation protocols, and issue-resolution processes between Nike and the 3PL provider.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH :
  • Develop strong partnerships with Operations, Controlling, Tech, and Supply and Inventory Management.
  • Co-lead day-to-day Inventory operations execution with the 3PL management team while maintaining clear accountability for contractual obligations for inventory.
  • Build strong partnerships across the Inventory Management Operations team to ensure consistency in best practices and participation in shaping the strategy and objectives of the team.
  • Develop close partnerships with Nike operations and 3PL operations to ensure support for operational requirements while maintaining inventory control.
  • Assess provider performance using objective data, conduct constructive business reviews, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement where needed.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations-management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Two additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting startup, facility transition, major implementation, or operational transformation.
  • 3PL experience working in, or leading through, a partner model to execute supply-chain business needs.
  • Solid understanding of automated distribution systems and experience with WMS-enabled operations.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methods preferred.
  • Demonstrated project-management capability, including the ability to manage multiple interdependent workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, strategic-planning, decision-making, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and guide partners at multiple organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce, build effective teams, and lead with a servant-leadership mindset.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters professionally and operate effectively under business-driven deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including early, late, weekend, or off-shift coverage when required during testing, launch, and stabilization.
