Responsible for performing and managing physical and administrative tasks related to inventory control, shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Duties include rejecting unsatisfactory items, determining routing and arrangements for shipments based on item characteristics, urgency, and cost, and selecting the most economical and efficient carriers. Calculates and records applicable charges, may reroute urgent shipments, and arranges special deliveries as needed. Prepares and maintains records of shipped and received products, processes freight bills and related documentation, and tracks shipments using a Product Tracking System. Receives, unpacks, and verifies incoming materials against purchase orders or invoices, ensuring conformance to stated identifications and inspecting for non‑conforming material per company procedures. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May perform wood shop functions such as building skids and crates and operate material‑handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) upon certification. Ensures compliance with material‑handling procedures, Environmental Health and Safety requirements, and safe handling of chemicals per the Hazardous Chemical Guidebook. Troubleshoots and rectifies straightforward discrepancies, escalating issues as needed.
