Job summary

Industrial Metal Supply in Phoenix, AZ is hiring Material Handlers to pull, pack, and wrap metal bar, sheet, plate and tube for will-call pickup. You will locate materials, verify sizes, and enter data into the inventory system while maintaining safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of material handling experience preferred in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify materials and locations, and safely locate materials using forklifts, side loaders, cherry pickers, and other equipment.
• Verify material sizes with calipers, micrometer, tape measures, and the color-coding system.
• Enter inventory into cycle counter and reconcile discrepancies between listing and stock.
• Assist others in locating materials and filling backorders.
• Provide basic training to new associates following company procedures.
• Maintain friendly, professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Report inventory discrepancies and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
