Job summary

Addison Group in Johns Creek, GA is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to optimize inventory valuation and cost flows. The role requires strong accounting principles, inventory management, and a hands-on approach with data analysis.

The ideal candidate will maintain standard costs, BOMs, and reports, participate in month-end closes, and support audit schedules while occasionally traveling for cycle counts.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory management and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and databases.
• Detail-oriented with ability to analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain ACCESS databases and generate reports and queries.
• Participate in month-end closing procedures to value inventory.
• Review inventory receiving for accuracy and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Maintain both standard costs and Bills of Materials for all manufactured items.
• Conduct periodic reviews of the general ledger and financial statements.
• Maintain procedures for documenting standard costs and inventory values.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts relating to inventory.
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and as deemed necessary throughout the year.
• Participate in plant Inventory Cycle Count Audits (some travel required).
