Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is seeking a detail‑oriented Inventory/Quality Associate to check produce quality, remove spoiled items, and manage daily inventory in a multi‑temperature warehouse. You will work closely with Receiving and Returns, break down full cases, and ensure dating and rotation standards are met, contributing to low spoilage and accurate stock for customers.

This role requires punctuality, the ability to lift up to 90 pounds, and the stamina to stand and walk throughout

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to communicate information accurately and apply strong math skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and intermediate general computer skills.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift; lift up to 60–90 pounds depending on location.
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

  • Communicate with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Determine quality of products returned by customers; work with Returns Clerk on returns quality.
  • Check quality of produce and ensure proper rotation and quality daily.
  • Break / repack full cases to smaller quantities to minimize spoilage and lost inventory.
  • Check dating on designated products daily; remove short-dated/bad product from inventory.
  • Keep inventory counts current.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Responsible for checking quality of designated product and taking daily inventory on produce. Removes spoiled product that is short-dated from inventory and repacking full cases into smaller quantities. Responsible for quality check of all produce pick locations. Pulls for dump or salvage any produce with decay or otherwise not meeting shipping requirements. Reports any dumps or salvage to Inventory Control. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and interact with customers (and company personnel) and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure customers' and vendors' questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Determine quality of products returned by customers; work with Returns Clerk on returned produce quality.
  • Check quality of produce and ensure: poor quality product is removed before a customer can purchase; proper rotation and quality of product on a daily basis.
  • Break / repack full cases to small cases.in the most timely and efficient manner as to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
  • Check for dating issue on designated products on a daily basis. Remove any short dated and bad product from inventory.
  • Keep inventory counts current.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
