Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a Sterile Transporter to support Central Sterile Processing and Operating Rooms in Baltimore. You will move sterile instruments, implants, and carts between CSP, ORs, and procedural areas while upholding infection prevention standards.

Responsibilities include delivering instrument sets, retrieving unused items, and assisting OR staff. Strong teamwork and ability to lift 50 lb are required, with flexible scheduling.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in Operating Room or Sterile Supply preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 100 pounds.
• Good communication and teamwork skills essential.
• Able to follow institutional guidelines and adapt to schedule changes.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure sterile items are handled per hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
• Deliver case carts and instruments to ORs before procedures.
• Retrieve unused instrumentation and return to Store Room.
• Assist OR and Sterile Processing staff in locating instrumentation.
• Coordinate with CSP staff to ensure timely movement of sterilized items.

Overview

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to a variety of the Johns Hopkins locations. Location: 600 N. Wolfe Street, Baltimore, MD 21287

Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p (1-AM shift vacancy) and Monday-Friday 11p-7:30a (1-Night shift vacancy)

Pay rate: $20.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Transport sterile instrument sets, case carts, implants, and surgical supplies between Central Sterile Processing, Operating Rooms and procedural areas.
• Ensure sterile items are handled and transported in accordance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and sterile integrity requirements.
• Deliver case carts and required surgical instrumentation to the Operating Room prior to scheduled procedures.
• Retrieve unused instrumentation and case carts from procedural areas and return them to the Store Room.
• Assist Operating Room and Sterile Processing staff in locating and retrieving required instrumentation from OR cores.
• Coordinate with CSP staff to ensure timely movement of sterilized instrumentation back to procedural areas.
• Communicate delays, missing items, or logistical issues promptly to CSP leadership and OR staff.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Previous work experiencein an Operating Room or Sterile Supply environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push carts up to 100 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Sound problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take direction and follow institutional guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to be flexible to meet schedule needs and handle frequent unpredictable changes.
• Ability to safely transport equipment and Instruments throughout the hospital.
