Job summary

Renew Cannabis Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Inventory Control Technician to oversee accurate physical counts across manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. You will reconcile records in real time and ensure traceability from raw material to finished goods, supporting QA and state compliance testing.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with ERP systems, and basic Excel skills. You’ll work cross-functionally with production, QA, and compliance teams to maintain inventory

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily physical counts across plant areas ensuring counts match system records.
  • Conduct cycle counts and spot audits to identify discrepancies.
  • Track product movement from raw material to finished goods in real time.
  • Weigh and verify packages with calibrated scales and record results.
  • Investigate variances, document findings, and assist with root-cause analysis.
  • Reconcile physical counts with track-and-trace data and prepare reports.
  • Prepare samples and batches for QA and state compliance testing.
  • Ensure all transfers, adjustments, and destructions are properly documented.
  • Fulfill orders and internal pulls by verifying weights and data in the system.
  • Intake inbound transfers and manifest outbound packages.
  • Maintain organized storage separating approved, quarantined, and rejected inventory.
  • Support audits by preparing records and responding to requests.
  • Maintain logs for calibration, adjustments, and chain-of-custody.
  • Assist with destruction processes with proper documentation.
  • Communicate across production, QA, packaging, and distribution teams.
  • Accept ad hoc projects from supervisor.

Job description

The Manufacturing Inventory Control Technician supports inventory control and compliance across manufacturing and distribution operations by performing accurate physical counts, updating tracking software, and ensuring all product movement is fully reconciled and documented. The Manufacturing Inventory Control Technician maintains real-time visibility of product locations and statuses, assists with testing and transfer documentation, and helps ensure operations meet regulatory and internal standards. This position works cross-functionally with production, quality, and leadership to resolve discrepancies and maintain chain-of-custody integrity. By safeguarding data accuracy and compliance, the role plays a critical part in maintaining product accountability and regulatory readiness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this list is not all inclusive)
  • Performs daily physical inventory counts across manufacturing, packaging, and distribution areas, ensuring all product quantities, weights, and statuses match system records.
  • Conducts cycle counts and routine spot audits on high-risk or high-volume inventory to proactively identify discrepancies.
  • Tracks product movement through all stages (raw material, WIP, finished goods, quarantined, destroyed) and update tracking software in real time.
  • Weighs and verifies packages using calibrated scales; record results accurately to maintain integrity of system inventory balances.
  • Investigates inventory variances, document findings, escalate issues, and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action when needed.
  • Reconciles physical inventory against track-and-trace data weekly or as required, preparing reports for supervisors and leadership.
  • Prepares samples and batches for QA and state compliance testing, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, sealing, and transfers.
  • Ensures all manifests, transfers, adjustments, and destructions are properly documented, approved, and retained per company SOPs.
  • Accurately fulfills orders and internal pulls by selecting correct packages, verifying weights, and confirming information in the tracking system.
  • Intakes inbound transfers, verify counts and integrity, and properly manifest outbound packages in track-and-trace software.
  • Maintains clear organization of storage areas, ensuring separation of approved, quarantined, and rejected inventory.
  • Supports internal, third-party, and regulatory audits by preparing inventory records, responding to requests, and participating in walkthroughs.
  • Maintains logs for equipment calibration, inventory adjustments, and chain-of-custody activities.
  • Assists with destruction processes, ensuring documentation and observation requirements are followed.
  • Communicates effectively with production, QA, packaging, and distribution teams to align on inventory status and needs.
  • Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Constantly: stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Frequently: stand and walk on the production floor; lift and move up to 40–50 lbs; bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Constantly: use hands and fingers for keyboard, mouse, and production tasks; perform computer-based data entry and record review.
  • Occasionally: remain seated or stationed at a workstation for extended periods while entering and verifying data.
  • Occasionally: climb, crouch, or work around equipment.
  • Ability to work in a busy production environment with changing priorities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High School diploma or GED required.
