An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Team Lead to oversee daily operations and ensure accuracy in inventory management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with Inventory Control team members to ensure the department’s daily work schedule is met. Prioritizes and delegates daily work assignments, ensures team member productivity and accuracy, and acts as a liaison with other departments. Trains new hires and documents via the ISO matrix, provides informal performance feedback, and fills in for the supervisor in his or her absence. Contributes to modifying and updating the ISO procedures to ensure accuracy. Works with supervisors and leads from other departments to coordinate efforts and resolve issues regarding inventory discrepancies. Provides feedback on errors and identifies trends that are beneficial to the operation. In addition, may perform some replenishment and put-away functions.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Three years of general warehouse experience including inventory control or comparable work experience required. High school diploma plus some college-level business or computer courses, or the equivalent, required.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize and direct various work assignments. Strong basic reading, math, and computer skills. Excellent problem-solving and communication (verbal/written) skills. Ability to work under stress and deal with multiple problems. Ability to pass machine driver safety training for all required equipment. Must be flexible to train in all areas of the warehouse. Detail-oriented to be responsible and accountable for department accuracy, goals, and training.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 60% walking/lifting, 10% operating machinery, and 30% desk/phone work. May be exposed to dust, hazardous items, and various temperatures, including occasional work in a refrigerated environment. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
