Job summary

The Jay Group in Houston, TX is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage and oversee warehouse inventory processes. You will ensure accurate stock levels, track products, and support cycle counts daily to maintain inventory integrity.

Responsibilities include overseeing receipts, adjustments, movements, and regular audits; analyzing data for trends; generating reports; and cooperating with the IC team. A High School Diploma and 3–5 years in a similar role are required; forklift certification is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of inventory control experience.
• Forklift or warehouse equipment certification preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment is a plus.
• Strong data accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory transactions such as receipts, adjustments, and movements.
• Coordinate and maintain proper storage of inventory to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, stock discrepancies, and potential issues.
• Generate and review inventory reports, and provide insights on inventory performance.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Develop and implement processes for better inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete daily cycle count tasks and meet special count requests.
• Reconcile discrepancies including SKU changes after counts.
• Verify lots/expiration information and pull products from active picking locations.
• Report large/unusual discrepancies to IC team with supporting documentation.
• Participate in physical inventories, including weekends.
• Operate warehouse equipment; overtime during peak season.
