Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking an Inventory Specialist to assist with inventory, accountability, storage, and safeguarding of warehouse merchandise. You will maintain records, generate inventory reports, and support the Inventory Manager.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, reporting discrepancies, using inventory software, and organizing the warehouse. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in mathematics.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Must lift 70 pounds.
• Prior warehouse experience required.
• Inventory reporting (physical/electronic) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counts all warehouse inventory and supplies.
• Inventory all merchandise on a periodic basis.
• Maintain computerized and manual files for tracking inventory.
• Reports on all discrepancies to the inventory manager.
• Operate electronic and other equipment needed to carry out job functions.
• Locate and remove expired or defective merchandise from the inventory.
• Work with the warehouse manager to reduce inventory discrepancies and shrink.
• Use inventory software to record and track data.
• Assist in organization and daily operations of the warehouse.
• Process daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
• Be flexible to work beyond normal hours and week.
