Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor all receiving reports to ensure accuracy of items and good condition of materials. Input received materials into the inventory management system.
- Conduct physical inventory assessments as required and update the inventory management system accordingly.
- Coordinate with the corporate office and site regarding transportation, purchasing, invoice validation, inventory control, and other related items to ensure timely and accurate receipt and shipment of materials.
- Prepare inventory management reports for leadership and sales staff as needed.
- Add new raw material items to the inventory.
- Provide error-free work to internal and external customers related to inventory output.
- Maintain customer-specific inventories by tracking and collaborating with procurement and sales teams.
- Process return authorizations back into inventory.
- Manage stock levels and evaluate site-specific purchased items.
- Perform and record daily inventory cycle counts.
- Make quantity adjustments with appropriate notifications or approvals.
- Review variances related to receiving and inventory.
- Review job travelers for accuracy concerning material usage (if applicable).
- Manage reordering of depleted stock items and shortages (if applicable).
- Assist sales in locating materials required for orders by checking inbound stock (if applicable).
- Work with vendors and corporate purchasing to locate and expedite materials (if applicable).
- Collaborate with the corporate office on overstock, slow-moving, and discontinued items, developing action plans for their depletion (if applicable).
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory control.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
- Experience with ERP systems required; Epicor preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
- Conversational English skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stand, twist, and stoop.
- Fine motor skills to manipulate objects with precision.
- Exposure to environmental conditions typical of a fabrication shop, including dirt, dust, noise, and vibration.
- Potential hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, high heat, or chemicals.
- Exposure to fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Contact with oils and cutting fluids.
