Position Summary

Maintains proper inventory levels by monitoring stock and generating purchase orders as needed in accordance with replenishment guidelines.

What You'll Do

1. Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
2. Place special orders and ensure pricing accuracy.
3. Provide guidance and training to less experienced co-workers.
4. Review system reports and generate purchase orders for stock merchandise.
5. Place vendor purchase orders to balance projected needs with special buy opportunities and promotions, ensuring on-time delivery.
6. Ensure all costs are accurate on purchase orders.
7. Collaborate with marketing, pricing, inventory control, and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies and vendor issues.
8. Assist staff and customers with product and freight information.
9. Return defective merchandise and secure proper credits from vendors.
10. Train and guide less experienced team members.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED and at least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
