Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist in Machesney Park, IL to lead data migration of inventory and master data into Quantum ERP, validating accuracy and cleansing records.

You will interpret engineering docs to verify BOMs and part attributes, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure clean migration to the new ERP environment while maintaining inventory integrity.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in Inventory Control, Material Management, Supply Chain Operations, ERP Data Management.
  • Experience with ERP systems including Quantum ERP, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Data Validation, Data Analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, validate, and migrate inventory and material master records from legacy systems into Quantum ERP.
  • Perform data cleansing activities to eliminate duplicate, obsolete, or inaccurate inventory records.
  • Validate item master data including: Part numbers, Material descriptions, Units of measure, Commodity classifications, Vendor information, Inventory locations, Costing information.
  • Support inventory data mapping and transformation activities between legacy databases and Quantum ERP.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during migration and testing phases.
  • Execute system audits and reconciliation activities to verify migration accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and transaction history.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with inventory optimization and location management initiatives.
  • Monitor material status, inventory levels, and inventory accuracy metrics.
  • Support warehouse and manufacturing operations during inventory transitions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Verify material requirements and part attributes using engineering documentation.
  • Cross-reference bills of materials (BOMs) with inventory records.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to validate item configurations and material definitions.
  • Identify inconsistencies between engineering documentation and inventory data.

  • The Inventory Control Specialist will play a critical role in the successful migration of material, inventory, and master data from legacy systems into the Quantum ERP platform. This position is responsible for validating, cleansing, organizing, and transferring inventory-related information while ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the migration process.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong inventory management experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to verify material specifications, part numbers, and bill of material (BOM) information. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, and ERP implementation teams to ensure a seamless transition into the new ERP environment.
What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

Pay Range

$23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Machesney Park, IL

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
