THE POSITION

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all areas of the organization. This role ensures that stock levels are kept at optimal levels, preventing overstocking and stockouts, and collaborates with various departments to manage inventory systems effectively. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in the efficiency of the supply chain, ensuring that inventory practices align with company standards and customer needs.

KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform regular physical counts (i.e. cycle and full) of inventory.

· Check actual stock against computerized records.

· Report discrepancies to superiors.

· Rotate stock as necessary.

· Report any stock issues or discrepancies to management.

· Conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory issues.

· Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures.

· Regularly update inventory system and database.

· Generate regular inventory reports (e.g., for stock levels, costs, deliveries).

· Ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments.

· Work closely with purchasing department to ensure that stock levels are appropriate.

· Liaise with sales staff to ensure necessary stock levels are maintained.

· Assist the shipping department in finding products in the warehouse.

· Use inventory management software to track goods and reorder products.

· Assist in the installation, maintenance, and training processes of new software or hardware related to inventory control.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

In addition to general team member expectations, this role specifically requires the following:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field is beneficial.

· Proficiency with inventory management software or databases.

· Basic mathematical skills.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

· Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

· Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple departments.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

· Proficiency in warehouse inventory systems. Epicor experience is strongly preferred.

· Problem-solving aptitude.
