Job summary

Simon & Schuster is seeking an organized Inventory Control Supervisor for our Jackson, TN distribution facility. You will supervise the daily activities of the Inventory Control team, ensuring book inventory is accurately received, stored, tracked, replenished, and prepared for customer fulfillment.

The role involves monitoring activity, overseeing cycle counts and reconciliations, and partnering with warehouse leadership to resolve inventory issues.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in inventory control or distribution operations.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and data analysis abilities.
• Experience with RF scanning devices and WMS usage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, schedule, and direct Inventory Control staff.
• Oversee cycle counts, location audits, and inventory adjustments.
• Monitor inventory accuracy across receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, returns and shipping.
• Investigate discrepancies in quantities, locations, title information, damaged merchandise, and system transactions.
• Review reports and WMS data to identify errors, trends, and issues.
• Ensure inventory adjustments are researched, documented, approved, and recorded.
• Collaborate with Receiving, Replenishment, Order Fulfillment, Shipping, and Returns to maintain product flow.
• Identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions or improvements.
• Monitor key metrics and communicate risks and concerns to management.
• Support physical inventories, internal audits, and financial reporting.
