Job summary

Simon & Schuster is seeking an organized Inventory Control Supervisor for our Jackson, TN distribution facility. You will supervise daily activities of the Inventory Control team to ensure accurate receiving, storage, tracking, replenishment, and preparation for customer fulfillment.

The role requires leadership, strong analytical skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and the ability to drive improvements in a high-volume distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of inventory control, warehouse, or distribution operations experience.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Experience using a warehouse management system and RF scanning devices.
• Strong understanding of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy research.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze reports and data.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, schedule, and direct Inventory Control team daily.
• Oversee cycle counts, location audits, and inventory adjustments.
• Monitor inventory accuracy across receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, returns, and shipping.
• Investigate discrepancies and root causes; communicate findings to management.
• Review inventory reports to identify errors and trends for process improvements.
• Maintain accurate item, title, quantity, and warehouse location data in the system.
• Collaborate with Receiving, Replenishment, Order Fulfillment, Shipping and Returns to maintain product flow.
• Support physical inventories and internal/audits for accuracy and compliance.
