Job summary

Adept HR is seeking an Inventory Control Lead for the 2nd shift (2:15 p.m. – 10:45 p.m.) to maintain inventory accuracy and support warehouse operations. You will monitor cycles, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with Receiving, Shipping and Warehouse teams.

You will train associates, maintain WMS records, and analyze inventory data to prevent issues. The role requires 2–5 years of experience, and the position pays $18.00 per hour.

JD Core Responsibilities;

• Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
• Analyze inventory reports and identify trends or issues.
• Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and warehouse teams.
• Ensure proper inventory procedures are followed.
• Train and support inventory control associates.
• Maintain inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).

Key Qualifications

Experience;

• 2–5 years of warehouse or inventory control experience.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.

Technical Skills;

• Knowledge of WMS, ERP, or inventory management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic reporting).
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse technology.
• Ability to analyze inventory data and identify root causes of discrepancies.

Leadership Skills;

• Ability to train and coach employees.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Operational Knowledge

• Understanding of receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
• Knowledge of inventory control best practices and warehouse procedures.
• Familiarity with FIFO, lot control, serial number tracking, and inventory adjustments.

Typical Performance Expectations

• Maintain inventory accuracy above 99%.
• Complete cycle counts on schedule.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Reduce inventory adjustments and operational errors.
• Support operational productivity by ensuring inventory is available and correctly located.

For Your Operation (AII Distribution Centers)

• Investigate allocation shortages and location discrepancies in ROI and Latitude.
• Coordinate with PTL, Receiving, and Shipping teams to resolve inventory issues.
• Monitor replenishment activities to prevent stockouts.
• Review and approve inventory adjustments.
• Lead cycle counts and root-cause analysis for inventory variances.
• Train associates on inventory procedures and system transactions.
• Provide daily inventory status updates and escalation reports to management.

A good Inventory Control Lead is not just counting inventory—they are responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, identifying process failures, and leading corrective actions to prevent issues from recurring.
