Job summary

GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions division seeks an Inventory Control Clerk to support production through accurate inventory management and efficient handling of materials. The role focuses on SAP-based receipt processing, material movement, and close collaboration with Purchasing and QA to ensure timely, accurate fulfillment.

Responsibilities include organizing the warehouse, labeling incoming goods, performing inspections, and maintaining inventory accuracy and related KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Process and input all PO receipts into SAP including in-transit material.
• Enter material movement data within SAP system.
• Maintain good relationships with internal customers and respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Keep a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on inspections.
• Conduct sample inspections of vendor managed items.
• Schedule deliveries from suppliers and carriers.
• Receive and unload incoming materials and verify against packing slips.
• Label incoming goods before storage.
• Maintain correct inventory quantities in the warehouse.
• Receive orders from customers and fulfill them promptly.
• Ensure proper care in use of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Follow department policies, procedures, and objectives.
• Inspect shipments for damages and report discrepancies.
• Log inventory shipments, receipts, or kits with proper labeling and paperwork.
• Generate all required paperwork to post inventory records.
• Monitor KPIs related to inventory control processes.
• Work overtime as needed to meet customer needs.
• Comply with safety rules and exhibit continuous improvement.

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for performing basic physical inventory and systematic inventory control functions that relate to the daily needs of the business in order to support the production environment. The Inventory Control Clerk ensures the accuracy of inventory as well as the preservation of the condition of materials in storage, handling, and transportation.

Job Description

• Processes and input all PO receipts into SAP including in-transit material
• Be responsible for entering material movement data within SAP system
• Maintain a good working relationship with internal customers by responding to all inquiries and complaints concerning receipts, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc. in a courteous and efficient manner
• Organize and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
• Work closely with the Purchasing Department on incoming, first article and in-process inspections
• Conduct sample inspections of vendor managed items
• Schedule incoming deliveries from suppliers and carriers
• Receive and unload incoming materials and compares information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipments
• Be responsible for labeling of incoming goods before storage
• Maintain the correct quantities of inventory for the warehouse
• Receive orders from customers and fills them in a timely manner
• Ensure proper care in the use of maintenance of material, equipment and supplies
• Follow established department policies, procedures, and objectives
• Inspect shipments for damages or defects. Records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or QA department
• Sort, count, packages, ensures proper labeling, unpacks and/or logs inventory that is shipped, received or kitted
• Generate all related paperwork and necessary information required to post inventory records
• Maintain Key Performance Indicators related to the inventory control processes
• Work overtime as needed based on customer needs
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations
• Exhibit continuous improvement-oriented behavior
• Other duties as required
