Job summary

RJW Logistics Group is hiring for an Inventory Control Clerk on the 2nd shift. The position requires experience with cherry pickers/reach trucks and forklift operation, plus familiarity with WMS software (Synapse preferred).

The 2nd shift runs Friday–Sunday 5pm–5am and Monday 5pm–11pm, with a pay rate of $24/hour. The role focuses on cycle counting, discrepancy research, and collaborating with the Inventory Supervisor to maintain stock integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 months related experience in Inventory Control.
• Minimum 1–3 months related experience in warehouse environment.
• Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
• Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
• PC literacy with Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accuracy.
• Counts and reconciles numbers and locations daily.
• Inputs inventory data to ensure integrity and proper documentation.
• Completes necessary documentation thoroughly and on time.
• Traces history of items to resolve discrepancies.
• Operates motorized equipment including Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Reach Truck.
• Reads and interprets safety rules and manuals.
• Writes routine reports and correspondence.
• Ensures compliance with inventory processes and contractual obligations.
• Uses computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Job Purpose:

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
• Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
• Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
• Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Use of motorized equipment including: Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
• Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
• Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
• Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
• Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
• PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and write emails.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
• Forklift certification a plus.
