Job summary

RJW Logistics Group is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to join our Bolingbrook warehouse. The role includes cycle counts, bin audits, and reconciling discrepancies with the Inventory Supervisor.

You will operate a forklift/pallet equipment and use WMS Synapse, Excel, and Outlook daily. We offer strong attendance and referral bonuses, an Employee Ownership Program, and a Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm shift with a starting pay of $20 per hour plus incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1–3 months inventory control experience preferred.
Must read, write, and speak English.
Experience operating forklift and cherry picker/high lift is a plus.
Experience with WMS software (Synapse preferred).
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

Responsibilities

Perform cycle counts and bin location audits.
Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies with supervisor.
Input inventory data accurately and document thoroughly.
Maintain inventory records and assist in stockroom duties.
Follow safety rules and procedures.

Shift: Monday-Friday-7:00am-3:30pm-20/hr

Job Purpose:

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventory materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
Counts and reconcile randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations daily.
Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Utilize computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
Must be able to communicate, read, write and speak English
Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Education and/or Experience Required:

High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write emails.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Forklift certification a plus.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
Must be able to work more than 8 continuous hours when required.
Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
